A shaman is an original researcher working in the sciences of religion and magic for the purposes of advancing man's knowledge of the correct ways of having meaningful direct communication with deities, spirits, and non-physical beings in their natural planes, states, or conditions.

This 16-week section helps students discover the difference between body, mind, and spirit, and the proper uses of each. The class discovers and compiles a list of all spirit abilities, and begins to use the abilities for:

  • Communication

  • Healing

  • Changing local and global conditions

  • Manifestation

Through spirit-to-spirit communication, students learn to alter many personal and global conditions quite easily, avoiding the difficult and arduous mundane processes that are often employed by non-shamans. The class also develops a hierarchy of non-physical and deity beings through a series of spirit-to-spirit interviews.

Features and Benefits of Basic Shamanism

  1. We discover from our own experiences what a shaman is and does.

  2. We learn to define ourselves by our insides rather than by our outsides.

  3. We determine what our actual spirit functions and abilities are, separate from those of mind and body.

  4. We learn the basic techniques for establishing a virtual basis for freedom through developing mobile anchor points instead of fixed ones.

  5. Our communication skills improve as we find out how to locate and talk with beings having non-human and non-visible bodies, while maintaining our safety and control.

  6. We have the opportunity to experience "wearing" other kinds of bodies from our own.

  7. We develop, as a class, a working set of hierarchies in various spiritual, religious, and pagan systems through our direct experience as an inventory of beings available for counsel and help.

  8. We study various methods for out-of-body travel, again with the emphasis on our safety and control, plus methods for properly stabilizing and re-locating ourselves quickly and effectively.

  9. We practice our skills at journeying from the known into the unknown without fear or concern, and we begin to set the foundation for entering the unknowable, should we later choose to explore there.
